After graduating from Middlesex University London I gained further diplomas in psychotherapy and advanced psychotherapy and am a member of the Associated Stress Consultants of Great Britain. I am a professional certified counsellor, as well as being a registered a member with the Counselling Code of Conduct and am an approved counsellor with the Institute of Natural Healing.
I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a member of The South African Institute of Hypnotherapy and COCHASA (The Confederation of Complimentary Health Association of South Africa.) I am a full member of the Independent Professional Therapists International. I recently became a HypnoBirthing® practitioner and attended my first Hypno birth!"
I am a certified Reiki I & II practitioner in the Usui Shiki Ryoho systems, and have been practicing and teaching meditation for several years. I studied Vipassna and various other Buddhist meditation techniques at Wat Suan Dok in Chiang Mai Thailand. By using many of the techniques I believe in I have even walked on hot coals at the Quest festival in Devon UK!
In my previous life as an adult education tutor in the UK I worked for the W.E.A (Workers Education Association) at Cranstoun Drug & Alcohol Services in Portsmouth & Gosport, and Spotlight Drug & Alcohol Services in Fareham and Grayshott Hall Wellness Retreat in Surrey, where I practiced all the therapies you will see on this site.
Due to my UK qualifications, I am taking further ongoing counselling training with an aim to becoming recognised and registered with the HPCSA (Health Professionals Council of South Africa.) Last year I also participated as a student in training and workshops on Family Foundation, Family Systemic, Narrative and Family Constellation therapies. This year I became a registered Prepare and Enrich relationship counsellor. And finally I recently gained SETA accredited Assessor status.
I am involved with two local NGO's and in 2007 I took on the role of Account Manager for Training at FAMSA in Knysna as well as starting an art therapy group at the Knysna Hospice.
